Abstract
Acute calcific periarthritis (ACP) in the subacromial area of the shoulder is well recognized. However, similar ACP around the elbow joint is rarely reported. The clinical features are acute onset with severe tenderness, swelling, painful limitation of motion, radiologic manifestation of periarticular calcification composed of hydroxyapatite crystals and spontaneous resolution. We experienced 2 cases of acute calcific periarthritis of the elbows treated conservatively.
