Abstract
Although the cause of heterotopic ossification remains unknown, direct trauma is the most frequent cause of heterotopic ossification of the elbow. And historically, heterotopic ossification was observed following overaggressive physical therapy and forceful passive manipulation of the elbow. However the signs and symptoms of ulnar nerve compression due to heterotopic bone have been rarely reported. We describe a case of a 57-year-old man who developed ulnar nerve palsy due to heterotopic ossification 32 weeks after an elbow trauma. He was treated by resection of heterotopic bone and medial epicondylectomy.
