Abstract |
Trigger finger, stenosing tendovaginitis of the fingers and thumb, is one of the most common causes of hand pain and disability. Percutaneous A1 pulley release is being increasingly used as a alternative to open surgical release and injection of local steroid for the treatment of the trigger digit. Most of the authors have reported that percutaneous release is a safe and effective technique which provides significant cost savings. There have been reported incomplete release and flexor tendon damage but no reported nerve or vascular complications with percutaneous trigger finger release. We report one case of proper digital artery injury after percutaneous A1 pulley release in trigger finger. Our case suggests that percutaneous release should be performed by the surgeons, who have many experiences in trigger finger and know very well the anatomy of hand. |
