Abstract
Traumatic radioulnar synostosis resulting in complete loss of pronation and supination is one of the most disastrous complication of the forearm fracture. This can be developed in both forearms after multiple trauma, after a stab or puncture wound without fracture and after a second fracture at a different site in the same forearm. We report a case of traumatic radioulnar synostosis which occurred after intramedullary nail fixation of the open comminuted radius shaft fracture. We mobilized the synostosis by excision of the synostosis, meticulous hemostasis with bone wax, and early rehabilitation.
