Abstract
Two cases of digital flexion contractures after healed forearm fractures were treated. At surgery, localized myotendinous adhesion of the flexor digitorum profundus to the healed fracture sites was observed with no evidence of ischemic involvement of the muscle. Both cases regained full finger extension after lysis of the adhesion. Authors found that not all digital flexion contractures after forearm fractures are due to Volkmann's ischemic contractures but diagnosis of pseudo-Volkmann's ischemic contracture caused by myotendinous adherence at the fracture site should be suspected.
