Abstract
Ganglion is the most common soft tissue tumor in the hand and insidiously occurred as a smooth and nontender mass which sometimes causes pain after hardwork. Most patients neglect the mass itself and visit doctor when pain more often interferes their jobs and activities of daily living. Experienced surgeon makes diagnosis without any difficulties with physical examination and x-rays, but ultrasonography, CT scan and MRI are useful for the detailed diagnosis. The second most location of the ganglion in the hand is an origin between the tendons of the flexor carpi radialis and brachioradialis on the volar wrist surface. In this area, the ganglion often impinges on the radial artery. From March 1994 through March 1998, authors have performed radical ganglionectomy in 3 cases which ganglion impinged on the radial artery in the radial volar wrist.
