Abstract
The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the functional outcomes of repair of collateral ligament and carpal ligament injuries that had been treated through a primary repair with intraosseous suture anchor. Seventeen patients with collateral ligament injuries of fingers and carpal ligament injuries were treated with primary repair using a miniature intraosseous suture anchor. There were ten patients with collateral ligament injuries of proximal interphalangeal joint of finger, five patients with gamekeeper's thumb and two patients with dorsal capsulodesis due to scapholunate dissociation. The authors concluded that this is a safe and effective method for repair of complete tears of the collateral ligament and carpal ligament injuries of the hand.
