Abstract
False aneurysm or pseudoaneurysm may follow any types of penetrating injury by narrow, sharp objects. Following perforation of artery, a hematoma forms and the flowing arterial blood slowly carves a cavity in the hematoma. The cavity becomes lined with endothelium and the hematoma wall is slowly replaced with fibrous scar tissue. Most common complaint of the patients is a pulsating mass and there may be a bruit over the aneurysm that is systolic rather than continuous. Other signs of false aneurysm may be paresthesia or paralysis due to nerve compression and ischemia due to thromboembolic phenomenon. We are reporting a rare case of a patient who had a false aneurysm of the ulnar artery after trivial penetrating injury on the hand with review of literatures.
